Timeyin is the Managing Director/CEO of Mangrove & Partners Ltd, a company set up to strengthen institutions mandated to provide basic services and improve human settlements. Mangrove & Partners currently supports State institutions and development agencies to build capacities, systems and partnerships for improved WASH services. To this end, Timeyin is providing part-time consultancy support to the Federal Ministry of Water Resources, as the National Coordinator of Nigeria’s National Action Plan to Revitalise the WASH Sector, a program launched by President Muhammadu Buhari in November 2018.
Timeyin was the Chief of Party of the WASH Coordination Project (WCP), Nigeria, a program managed by Development Innovations Group. WCP, was funded by USAID, to support reform focused utilities in Nigeria to deliver on their objectives.
Timeyin provided strategic thought leadership and quality programming oversight for WaterAid’s global urban water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) agenda between 2005 and 2016. He served as the interim Country Representative (Director) of WaterAid in Nigeria in 2011/12. He joined WaterAid Nigeria in 2003, establishing the public policy, advocacy and communication department, before moving to WaterAid UK as a Senior Policy Analyst in 2005.
Timeyin has gained extensive experiences in public policy research and analysis, strategic planning as well as programme management, review, evaluation and learning across Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. He is the author / co-author of several publications and training manuals on issues of equity and social justice, performance management, citizens’ participation, decentralised services, sector reform and effective targeting of development finance.
Before joining WaterAid, Timeyin chaired the Board of Lagos Mainland Local Planning Authority. He also served on a few Federal Government Committees, during his tenure as the Deputy Housing and Environment Editor of The Guardian (Nigeria). Timeyin has valuable skills in negotiation, facilitation, communication, tact and diplomacy, and strategic leadership. He has organised and led various delegations to international conferences and conventions and engaged with very senior public policy discussions and influencing processes. He has a rich understanding of the importance of consensus building in national dialogues, regional resource allocation, international diplomacy and global cooperation.
A versatile urban and regional planner, Timeyin has vast experiences in participatory surveys, and social and environmental impact studies, haven led various planning, environmental and social impact studies and infrastructure planning assignments.
